I am honored to be a part of the International Doll Artist Exhibition at the Auguste Clown Gallery in Melbourne Australia this month!
It will be showcasing over 30 custom dolls from different artists around the world and it opens on February 20th.
The title of the show is "Once upon a Blythe" and each doll comes with a little story.
The dolls will be for sale at the show or can be purchased online by contacting the gallery at: info@augusteclown.com
I was invited to be a part of this show back in the fall of 2014, but it wasn't until just about a week ago that I even knew about the invitation (and the show)! The email had gone to my junk/spam folder and I didn't see it until I had some people ask me why I wasn't in this show and I searched my old junk emails...
But luckily I was still able to be a part of the show and create a sweet little orphan girl and get her mailed off just in time :)
I had visions of creating an elaborate forest nymph because that was what I was already envisioning for my next custom doll, but with the time constraints of only one week to create/finish her, I decided to go a little more simple but still very "Melacacia" and make a sweet little orphan girl.
So here she is:
So here she is:
Little Lost Orphan Girl
She wanders through the streets hoping to find someone, anyone who cares. Other than her stuffed bunny, she has no one. Her big bright eyes search the faces of the people passing by but it is as if she doesn’t exist. Everyone has their own worries to tend to, she thinks. She feels hopeless, who would want the burden of a lonely girl and her bunny...
Will anyone be able to find a place in their heart for this little lost orphan girl?

Custom Work:
Base Doll: RBL (Simply Love Me)
All new face up created, including tiny freckles, veins, and tears
All new hand painted eyechips and lashes
Altered eye mechanism (boggled and sleepy eyes)
Carved mouth and nose
Sealed with multiple coats of MSC
She has a silky soft deep brown Alpaca reroot and new Pure Neemo Flexion body
She wears my new design "Raglan Orphan Dress" in a tea stained cream with socks and little bloomers with lace on the bum
Black shoes and silk hair ribbons also included
Her sweet little needle felted bunny is actually held by her left hand... I customized her hand so she wouldn't have to let go of her only friend during the show!
I included an extra (open) hand for a second option, though :)
She comes with the custom wooden doll stand and custom wooden box

P.S. I still plan to create that Forest Nymph and she is already in the making, so please stay tuned ;)
