This is the doll I am going to be using for my upcoming custom. She is an Asian Butterfly Encore.
The scalp is beautifully re-rooted with a burgandy/wine saran. Every single plug is re-rooted using the knot method.
I wouldn't mind hearing opinions on this hair. I do not usually use Saran hair for my art customs, I usually have a more natural feel to my dolls, but I really like this one and it makes me think of Valentines day, which is suitable for the upcoming month :)
What do you guys think? Can you picture this girl as a Melacacia girl?
Thanks for your input!
Inside of scalp:
She will be my January 2010 doll :)
xoxo and Happy New Year!!!!
2009 has been a great year. I really can't believe it is going to be the year 2010... It just blows me away when I really think about it!
I have been playing around with the idea of creating one custom doll a month for the year 2010. Each doll will be named for that month (January, February, etc) and may have a theme to go along with that month. I am just not sure I can swing it when I also have commissions going on constantly. But I am having fun with the idea and may try it. I could also do 10 dolls for the year 2010. That sounds a little more doable. ;) We'll see what comes of it.
I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years Eve tonight!! Be safe!

Angelica is almost ready!
Back to Blogger
Well, my Melacacia.com site is being really difficult, so I have decided to come back to blogger and try using it as my main site for Melacacia-ness.
I would like to be able to use my site for commission info, informative Blythe related links, Art inspiration, and a place to post photos of my current work or whatever I feel I should be posting photos of at that moment :)
Thanks for visiting Melacacia and please "follow" me if you would like to keep updated on my work!

Ghostie
My Little Ghostie Girl Arrived Today!!!!
She arrived today after crossing paths with Emily in the mail and I adore her.
The girl who I traded with for her gave her white re-rooted alpaca mohair and it is the softed and finest mohair ever! I love it!
She is a blank slate and could probably use some make-up but I really like her like this!

Prima Dolly Cassis
I got her in a trade from a really nice girl and I thought that I always wanted a Cassis, but for some reason I just don't feel a bond with her.... She is a beautiful doll and I am torn as to what I should do with her.....
My options are:
Sell her the way she is on TIB
Trade her
Customize her completely and list her on Ebay
Keep her
I feel a little bit timid about customizing her any more than I already have, just because she is one of the more expensive dolls...
aaaah!!! What to do....
Her scalp has been reapplied beautifully now... She really is a pretty doll...
When I got her, she was in stock condition except her scalp had been removed and cut cleanly (flanges removed) to fit onto an EBL head.
I sand matted her but kept her makeup
boggled her eyelids and gave her sleepy eyes
I reapplied the scalp, leaving the back unglued in case anyone wanted to open her head again.. She looks perfect! Yeay!
She came with her original box but no stock items
Body is in perfect condition
